Nokia is undoubtedly one of the most popular mobile phone manufacturers out there today, although it is fair to say that it has produced just as many misses as hits in the last few years. However, their latest offering is out to redress the balance in favour of the hits and, if all the reports are to be believed, the Nokia N85 does just that. However, an unbiased review is always a good tool so read on to find out the lowdown about the Nokia N85 and just what it can give you.
The Smart Slider
The Nokia N85 is a slider phone rather than the touch screen that many people would have expected it to be. The slide mechanism is incredibly sturdy without appearing to be too heavy. In fact, the whole phone appears to smart and sophisticated with just the right measure of sleek sexiness thrown in. Designed to appeal to a business as well as personal user, the Nokia N85?s black casing is just as practical as it is attractive.
The handset itself is dominated by the 2.6 inch OLED screen, which presents 16 million colours and a QVGA resolution so you are guaranteed an amazing experience when using the camera on board.
Packed Full Of Features
The Nokia N85 is more than just a pretty face though. With a features list that has almost everything, this Smartphone literally has something for everyone. For example, the music player gives a god quality sound so you can take full advantage and listen to your favourite tunes. It supports all popular file formats so you have no need to worry about compatibility. There is also a gaming platform on the Nokia N85 that is known as N-Gage. The gaming software is well thought out and gives the user a good mobile gaming experience but it obviously is not up to the standards of the DS or PSP.
There is also a decent web browser, Bluetooth and HSDPA connectivity within the Nokia N85 but the best feature is the usual Nokia 5MP camera. It comes complete with a range of features to increase the quality of the pictures and it must be said that the autofocus and dual LED flash do just that.
There are a few elements of the Nokia N85 that do let this otherwise solid handset down. The lack of Wi-Fi is especially noticeable given the connectivity options that the Smartphone does have. As such, it is worth considering whether or not it is something that you can do without. There is also a significant lag on the zoom of the camera, which can prove to be a little annoying. It is there but is surprisingly slow given just how effective and efficient all of the other features are.
However, despite those few little niggles, the Nokia N85 is a handset that anyone can be proud of. It literally has everything you need on there for a business or personal phone. As such, it is no wonder that it comes highly recommended!
